40 yr old mudbug...

Back around 1975 when I was about 8.. jimmy holt and glen smith on the Tn outdoorsman ch. 8 always talked about fishing with a Fred arbogast mudbug.. well I somehow talked my dad into letting me buy one.. iirc we went to Roses in Columbia and I got one.. well we also stopped at Hardee's for supper and I lost my mudbug before I ever got home... I finally got the chance to buy me another one..and I put it up.. well today we were at mothers for Easter and I went into the garage and found my mudbug.... I want to tie it on and finally fish with it.. but I don't want to either fearing I might loose it!!!

Pretty cool. I would have a hard time slinging it myself

Cool looking bait, I don't recall the bait but do remember the show.

Those old baits caught fish back then and I bet will still catch em' today.

I'm sitting here looking at a Christmas Tree colored Whopper Stopper that my next door neighbor gave me in 1957. I think I fished it a couple of times growing up, but was always afraid of losing it. It has it's place on my shelf and won't be near the water again. Mark Jones was a larger than life guy for a little boy, and helped fan some of the hunting and fishing flames that shaped my life and career.

Great that you found the old mudbug and all the memories that come with it.
