I haven't but wouldn't be afraid to. Just make sure to tape off everything good so paint doesn't get in the barrel, action or trigger assembly. Also the paint will last a lot longer if you spray on a couple coats of good clear coat.

I was getting them for $45 for 500 back in the summer. I haven't heard any complaints about them from the coyotes, armadillos or groundhogs yet.

Those Hornady 55gr SP's are what I load for the .223. I was buying them by the 500 count box but the place I was getting them closed down.

I have been seeing .223 fmj priced at $1-$1.50 a round and .22lr hollow point ammo being priced at $35-$40 a stick and Bulk packs for .20 each for round nose .25 cents each for hollow points! Is it really selling for those prices or is that just folks with high hopes of selling them for that? If...

I appreciate it but I was hoping to find 100+ to work up a hunting load. If I can't I will use the 165AB's so I'm not in a pinch to find the BT's.

A local taxidermist does them in a big pot outside with some powdered chemical in the water. It works pretty fast, they come out cleaner and doesn't smell nearly as bad as just boiling them. I guess the power is a bleaching/cleaning agent of some type.

I boiled my first one in the kitchen and my wife came home early to open the door to a nose full of it.....good times! 😆
