Not guilty !

The smartest thing the one dude did was to run away and the other guy stood there and never said a word when all this went down.
From a letter of the law I believe it's gonna be pretty tough to actually prove they did this.
Unless there is a witness or some evidence in text messages or something I see these guys getting out of this without any jail time.

They are due back in court November 9th, so we will see.

Circumstantial evidence.

Ex: You go into the office in the morning and it's sunny with bluebird skies. You go out for lunch and pass people shaking off umbrellas, winds are gusty, the gutters are full and there's puddles in the parking lot. Even though you didn't personally see it happen, you can reasonably assume it rained.

How does a pound and half of lead weights get into a fish's gullet, why are those fish in your possession, and you're weighing them in at a tournament (assuming they're yours), yes?

One thing I thought of was maybe they were pre-catching them and putting them in baskets and someone saw them doing it and loaded them up with lead. LOL

I think they go down for 2 reasons: 1- Possession of lead-loaded fish (altogether unnatural) and 2- Submitting said fish at weigh in as legitimate catches (intent).

Why would one guy run like the dickens was after him, and the other guy stand there silent and looking dumbfounded while the tourney judge weighed "someone else's bag?" Not quite sure if the "No sir, these weren't my fish" defense is gonna work when they'd just took them out of their livewell and handed them to the judge.

To be clear, I'm no legal eagle but this seems open and shut to me...wouldn't be surprised if they eventually cop a plea.

I'm not the most experienced here, with this kinda crime... but if it were a murder case, they'd separate them, and use the angle of one guy turning on the other.

Of course, that's not what happened here, and it's too bad things aren't like they once were. The world isn't the same place, and folks get away often times, with horrible acts.

Rat-bastards.

probably get a slap on the wrist legally. at least they are doing more than the FLW did when they caught a cheat back in '04. he was dominating the first 30 tournaments until they busted him.

I read a big write up on that guy the other day. From what I understood he basically told them exactly what he was doing and that their rules didn't make it illegal even though he was clearly cheating.

Well ask yourself this. What are the chances they caught 4 or 5 walleye and they all just happened to eat a pound of lead weight and fish fillets LOL. Proof , NO but the problem is all 5 had weight added. If it had been 1 fish i would say its a very good possibility they didnt know.
