First blood this morning. Not the deer mine. Lol. At 7/a reaching to get arrow out of xbow quiver, cut my left thumb. Sat till 10;30, used up all my toilet paper didn't stop bleeding till I got home at 11/a. Been bow hunting for over 30 years never done that. Was as bad as the time I cut myself cutting the windpipe free on a little 4 pt. over a decade ago. Anyway got some good pics, showed they went thru at 4/a. Should have had band aids, in pack. Do now.

Didn't see any deer this morning. Wish we had a Fall Turkey season, had 4 long beards within 20 yards.
Saw two young bucks and a single doe this evening. Gave them all a pass. Big old doe, she should be ashamed of herself for not having a young one. I don't usually kill does but if I see her again during bow season she's a gonner. "If she don't breed I don't feed".

Climbed up tree at 6:30 busted by 2 does from behind stand at 8. At 9:30 a 1000 lb walking horse came in to 10 yards Haha, then at 10:30 5 more does passed my stand at 50 yards but never came close for a shot. They were hitting the acorns.View attachment 114807
I've had a lot of horses. They look like that when they are feeding on something.

Saw 5 deer while in the blind. Had a good looking young 6 at 8 yards, only real shot was to spine him, so I let him walk. Saw another 6 at 60 yards, but behind a rise and he sauntered on up in the woods. 2 does came out from behind me, and I shot one at 21 yards, other ran off at the shot. The shot was perfect, but very sparse blood trail. Found my arrow, good blood on it. Managed to follow the trail, and found her 40 yards in the woods, my mechanical broadhead did not deploy, entry and exit almost exact diameter of the arrow shaft. Got back in the stand for a little while and saw the #2 deer of the ones I have on camera that I really want to shoot. He stopped at 55 yards on the edge of the woods with his head and vitals covered by a couple branches and looking over the dead doe. He walked on up in the woods and that was the end of the morning for me. Dressed the doe and dropped her off at the processor and headed to an afternoon wedding in Mississippi.
