Hope the yote don't get em.
This is a town deer. Should be good to go. Been mowing this property for 10 years now. Usually there's 2 or 3 running around. Never seen a yote in town. But some has. Biggest issue is the stray dogs. But I've not noticed them lately either.

thought you guys may enjoy it. The landowner called me 2 hours later worrying because it was still laying there. Told her momma off resting and feeding. She'll be back. Right at dark here she came. Her and little one walked over and bedded down behind the buildings.

It's a cool picture.
Funny how we hunt them and still care for them.

Think of how much money hunters spend on benefits to all deer: food plots, mineral licks, better habitat... It's many millions of dollars. And what do "Animal Welfare" people spend on benefitting deer? Nothing. They just scream loud and revel in their own distorted sense of moral superiority.

I would double like this if it were an option.... excellent point made....I had a similar conversation with a co-worker once who was against the slaughter of cattle...or any other animal for that matter...he liked the idea of caring for animals but chooses not to eat meat of any kind.....so during our conversation I explained to him the NOBODY cares for cattle more than the cattleman.... doctoring sick cattle...helping mama cows raise calves....providing good pasture ground....money spent on fences... medication....feed...etc.....and while the conversation did not change his desire to eat meat.....he did admit that I gave him allot to think about.

In the same way the hunter & land manager spends more money to benefit wildlife than than ANY other group period. Talk in cheap..... habitat improvements take time, effort and in many cases money....the "anti's" just talk and do not understand conservation and stewardship.

I'd love to have a PITA member explain to me in detail how they would implement a better way of living for deer and turkeys

Along with PETA you can add ASPCA and the Humane Society to the list of anti hunting organizations....for the most part they don't spend money to improve animal welfare....they spend money to create gut wrenching commercials to raise funds for the top executives salaries and retirement funds.... many of their programs or shelters are run by volunteers who truly want to help dogs and cats, etc.....as for the local humane society....I give zero dollars....but if I want to support the effort I'll donate bags of dog food or cat food locally...I know where that's going....I'm not supporting any anti conservation organization financially..... sorry to ramble...rant over.

We donate food and other needed items to our local shelters. They are very appreciative. However, we will never financially support the larger organizations that are anti-hunting.

We also adopt animals from the local shelters. We have two of them now.

We do the same.... support local "boots on the ground".....and our last couple of dogs have been adopted from humane shelter...nice people.

I was educated on the the humane society many years ago by our former vet who's now retired....he explained to me how most of these organization work and suggested donations of food, never money....found his comments interesting being he was a vet who committed his career to caring for large and small animals.
