First deer ever......Illinois

Been deer hunting 11 years. First 9 years were public land within 2 hours of Chicago. Wake up way too early, deal with all the yay-hoos and come home empty handed.
Last year joined a club/lease That a couple guys I work with were in.
400 acres. I sleep in my car in a sleeping bag. Not fun when it's 15 degrees out.
I got this dude 20 minutes into the first day of the first gun season.
Going by a measurement chart, it's field dressed weight was 240 lbs.
I had to use my car with a rope to hoist him into a tree.
