Zero-ing your rifle.

Due to college, I won't be able to zero my deer rifle till right before season. The guns should hold zero until season ( I have quality scoped and mounts on my guns.)

I would forfeit going to the woods before I'd take a rifle hunting I didn't know was 100% dead on. You owe it to the game you hunt.

Know a guy who bought a muzzleloader. The store bore sighted it and he went hunting the next day. Gut shot 3 does in 4 hours. Only found one. Then the other two a few days later.

This, to me, is a sin. He knew better.

Especially a center fire rifle should be zeroed. Perhaps the easiest of all weapons to do so.

I have bore sighted many a gun and have gotten really good at it. Probably much better than those bore sighting at some big box store. There is NO WAY I would ever taken a gun of any type that has only been bore sighted into the woods without zeroing it. It is absolutely ludicrous to do so.
