Zeiss ML scope

Decided to look at a Zeiss to go on my Omega ML.
500-700 pricerange.
Can't take the Nikon Omega scope.

Is there a certian factor to consider for ML use?

What makes a ML scope different than a rifle scope?

Or is any scope both a ML scope and a rifle scope?

In theory there are different force patterns and force angles at work with black powder rifles. I just use a rifle scope, never had an issue. It may just be a marketing ploy. Don't know for sure.

The Nikin BDC retical is of benefit,if the glass was better.

Nikon is not the only scope mfg.,promoting both rifle scopes and ML scopes.
No diff to me, but thought I may have missed something new.

Ok LCU, I know I've responded to many of your posts and you have taken them the wrong way due to your strong loyalty to the optics you already have. This is my ML setup a TC Encore topped off with a Zeiss Conquest 1.8-5.5 scope in Burris one-piece mounts.

IMO, it is the perfect ML scope for numerous reasons.

Now to answer your question. In the next pic, look at the ocular. That is where you focus your scope. On the Zeiss Conquest all you have to do is spin the focusing lense to the left (since most of the time it is all the way in when you purchase the scope) and then just stop spinning when everything comes into focus. Many people don't know that you can do this.

This scope retails for $525. But I know where you can get one brand new for $200 less all day long.

good eye relief, the recoil of a mz is a longer stroke. some companies say that mz scopes are built stronger, but i say its hype(maybe). a mz doesnt kick no where near some of the magnums.

parallex setting on MZ scopes is different than rifle scopes. That is the primary difference. Some MZ scopes also have longer eye relief for the magnum charges.

The Zeiss Conquest comes in different power ranges, but doesn't come in different models with different prices. You can get a fixed 4x, 1.8-5.5x38, 2.5-8x32 (my favorite), 3-9x40/50, 3.5-10x44/50,4.5-14x44/50,6.5-20x50, and 3-12x56. They come with all sorts of different reticles and come in stainless and matte. They use the same glass within all of the power ranges.

www.cameralandny.com has the best prices that I have found. They are generally $50 to $200 below retail prices. Bear Basin prices are pretty much retail prices.
