Had a chinese chestnut drop one of it's acorn and the prickly part was split open. Opened it the rest of the way and ate it. They taste good, I could have probably ate a bucket of them. I guess I need to buy more of them because white oaks have nothing on them as far as flavor.

I am convinced watering them on a regular basis is the key. I am hoping to finally finish my watering system by next summer. This year we had decent rain fall excluding the last month.

What are y'all doing for a system?

Once I get it close to being done I will post a thread on it. I am working on a few options and will be hopefully testing one of them before deer season. I may pick it back up in the spring.

What size are your trees? I have some yr old ones now I started from seed. A lady down the street has 3 chinese in her yard, she bags them up and I take them.
