There are lots of deer. Contrary to the belief of some, no rules are waived for this hunt, so remember that a buck has to be 4pt on one side or wider than his ears (15", I think). It is beautiful, diverse land. Be very careful not to get turned around if you go in the ridges, because as the WMA manager, Bernie Swinney, says, "They may not be that high, but they are STEEP!" They also tend to have a lot of areas that look the same, giving you that de ja vu effect.
75 young hunters, so get off of the fields. Right now the corn is high, but will be harvested soon. Grapes/muscadines are abundant in the woods, but should pretty well be dried up by Oct.
