Who all got drawd for the hunts at yuchi ?
And have you killed deer there before on past draw hunts?
I will be there during the Nov 13-14..

I love the diverse habitat. The knobs are no joke, and easy to get turned around in. Hunt the pressure (and there WILL be pressure) but STAY IN THE WOODS ALL DAY! Other hunters will push deer by you as they come and go for lunch.

Hunters tend to congregate in different places each hunt, so it's hard to say if you should hunt in any particular area.

My brother, dad, and I will be out there for the December hunt.

Where is a good place to start scouting at? Have a juvenile hunt 10/23 and never hunted it. I'll take the kid and try it out. Have heard good things about the area.

I think there are only certain days you are supposed to "Scout" - however, I think it's open to small game hunters, so .... scout it with a .22 in hand?

I've killed several deer there two pretty decent eight pointers but it has changed alot since I killed my bucks . Where I killed the last one they turned into handicapped. One good place is right before you get to the checking station there is a gate on the right. Go through the gate and you will come to a field on the left . Go in the field and after about 50 - 60 yards take a right, go into the woods bearing just a little left down to the bottom of a hollow . There's a branch in the middle of the hollow , just follow it until you come to a road . The deer seem to follow that road coming from a old clear-cut to your left to the field up the ridge to your right. I tried to get that spot last time I hunted there but some one beat me to it and he shot a couple of times.

Would second Snake here. He was a huge help to me in preparing for Yuchi. Big thank you to him.

Of course, I ended up having COVID (Great use of 4 points) and couldn't go, but I look forward to drawing again.

Thanks Deer Camp I'll check it out . You know how it is when you are trying to put a juvenile on a good deer . You try harder than you usually do for yourself. Thanks again.

Killed a decent eight point next to that old road bead one year . Seen 21 before I shot him right @ 9:30 a.m. Next time I drawed Yuchi I tried another spot futher towards river but later that morning was making my towards the spot I told you . Stalked upon two bucks both shooters , lead buck no problem could've took him easy . Second buck much better following in first buck's footsteps so just waiting on a clear shot. About to clear for a shot hear a deer blow right behind me so the buck's I'd been watching took off, no shot . Next thing I hear boom so I knew one of those buck's had been shot at. Lunch time I pull around there and ask , they said a guy killed a good buck and they were dragging him out . Had been a good spot .
