What's around, hotels camping etc. It's a hour drive for me but if I kill a deer which I plan on it. I would have to bring it all the way back to chatt anyways. Also I got the bow hunt Oct. 15. Any advice or pointers on the place would be greatly appreciated .

I've also got he second archery hunt. I'm planning on driving down there this weekend or next to explore some. I'm wanting to find a campround in the area. It's only a 1.5 hour drive from Maryville so it wouldn't kill me to do it, but it would be nice to find a decent place to camp. I know there is one by Hiawassee Refuge, but I don't know its name. If you're looking for a hotel, there are several in Dayton to choose from.

Unfortunately, you can't camp on Yuchi. I looked into this in 2013 when I drew the gun hunt. I also didn't find any camping areas nearby. I ended up driving to Yuchi from Signal Mountain on both days of the hunt. I hope to draw it next year, so I'd be interested if you guys find a good camping option in the area.

Yall can try Blue water camp ground. Take you about 20 min to get to Yuchi from there. Also some of the Watts bar unit 2 camp grounds from construction may still be open, in the spring city area. Other tHan that they a few hotels and about it.

You can call the guys that work there and get info. I called them in 2013 and got the scoop. I just don't remember what they told me about scouting. After the first day when I didn't see any deer they gave me a suggestion on where to hunt the next day. I took their advice and bagged a nice doe that morning.

i went there a few years ago i didn't get to go scout at all,but it wasn't for lack of trying!
I honestly scouted off of google earth and it worked out!
But i was hunting with a rifle not a bow and i got lucky.Honestly i haven't wasted my time on that place again for several reasons but its got plenty of deer on it!

There are a couple rv parks near were mainly tva contractors camped off hwy 68,and a really nice campground and lodge at bluewater resort in dayton!

Pm me and I can cyber scout it as if I was going to hunt it for a few days. I'll go over a few spots of interest to me via the computer and I'll send em to you via Google earth...I've done this with other members with success.

I believe 100 people are picked for the bow hunts. I'll be there the mid Oct hunt as well.
