Ok I got drawn for the first bow hunt and I'm wanting to go scout but I can't get the main guy to call me back to see when it's ok.I don't want to go in blind.im also.wanting to see if there is special parking or you just pull off the road and go in.

It's open for small game hunting and squirrel season is in, so I would imagine you can access it anytime. There are parking areas all along the road. They are pretty obvious when you are there. I was down there a couple weeks ago checking the place out.

Hint: the white oaks are going to produce there this year. Find some whites with acorns on them and they should start dropping by then.

Well he called me back this morning.he did tell me that he didn't think there would be many acorns this year

Acorns are scarce around here this year. I've walked probably 6 miles through haiwassee refuge and managed to find 4 whiteoaks together 50yrds off the water on South faced slope ridge that had some dropping. All the other hundreds I glassed with my binocs didn't have a single one on it. Good luck.

Went to Yuchi yesterday and walked almost 6 miles. They are tons of whiteoak acorns on the trees and already a bunch hitting the ground.

I found several white oaks that were going to produce when I scouted it a little over a month ago. That was when I thought that I would be drawn for the ml hunt.
