Youth wma hunting

My 7 year old daughter is looking to take her first bird this spring. I have a few questions, kinda new to this.

Does she need to get a TWRA ID# only if we plan to use the mobile check in, or does she need one regardless of what method of check in is used? Besides that, no license is needed at all for her? Is she legally able to hunt all season long? or just youth weekend?

Second group of questions concern youths hunting on WMAs. Are WMAs open to hunting youth weekend? Are there any sign ups or are any special actions needed for youth weekend hunting? Specifically looking at Cheatham. First come first serve like normal?? Will she need a WMA use permit? (094?) Will I need a WMA use permit to be her hunting partner?

Your daughter will have to be in the system and have a TWRA ID number to check in online or with the TWRA APP. If she goes to a TWRA checking station, they will be able to create the user profile as they check it in for her, and she will then have a TWRA ID #. She will have to have her social security number for the checking station, or to have License Sales to create a profile for her prior to hunting.

There are some WMAS that are not open for nonquota hunting, and therefore will not be open for the Young Sportsman hunt. You can access the individual WMA information in the back of the 2014-15 Hunting Guide. The WMAS that say same as statewide season will be open that weekend UNLESS it lists an exception in the Guide. Cheatham is listed as being open. Your daughter will need a type 94 permit to hunt.

Your daughter can legally hunt the entire season. You will need to be properly licensed and permitted if you assist in her hunt in any way, such as carrying guns & equipment or calling for her, with the exception of the Youth hunt. When your daughter is hunting, there is a requirement for an adult 21 or over who must be in position at all times to take immediate control of her hunting weapon.
