I am trying to get my boys excited about deer hunting which can be difficult where i am due to low population. My parents have moved to Fayetteville and i seen the flintville hatchery WMA is over there. It is archery only except on the young sportman hunts. Does anyone hunt young sportsman there and or do u think it would be a good place to take my boys (11 and 8). I plan to scout it out the weekend b4 christmas while we are visiting my folks.

Not sure where that is. But I have the same problem. Can't get my 8 year old excited cause attention span is only so long. You take him 5 or 6 times and don't see anything it can be a tough sell.

Yeah took the youngest squirrel hunting and he at least got to shoot at some so that was fun...probably going to take them both christmas eve squirrel hunting if the weather is good. Someone on here suggested that as a way to get them into hunting in general and work up to deer. So i am trying that. At least it gets them off the video games lol.

Fayetteville is a great area for deer that's for sure. I know nothing about the Flintville Hatchery though so I can't help you there. What days will you guys be in town?

Coming in 21st and 22nd for christmas with my folks and was planning on coming back for the youth hunt weekend jan 11 and 12
