Our first youth day clinic will be August 18th at Standing Stone State Park. We will be on the old archery range. Time from 9 til 3. Need lots of member volunteers. Each youth must be with an adult who will be responsible for the youth. Ages 5 to 15.

squattin dogg,
We would love to have any help your club would want to offer. Manpower included. The thing is, we are a traditional organization and all bows used will be trad bows. I put in a call today to some of my friends at Compton. I think they may come through with some more youth arrows. We could use more camp type bows. We are planning on youth 5 to 15. We will have a basic shooting class. A short 3-d range and some novelties. This is our first youth clinic. It won't be a big deal. We are using it as a learning experience for future events. Once again we would love to have you guys come up play stick bows with us.

About 100 miles road racer. Let me clear up somthing here.
A lot of you don't understand the whole concept of our organization. You are worried about the distance to this youth event. We want a lot of youth events. One in your area. No one can reach the kids in your area like you can. When I asked Standing stone park about hosting this event, they jumped at the chance. The only thing we ask is that the local committe in your area be screened for the safty of the kids. Having said that, everyone is welcome to come help or just attend. JB

I didn't think there were enough people in East TN shooting traditonal to have events throughout the area. Just getting back into it and thought it would be a good chance to connect with a few new people. I might have to in VA at my sisters that weekend but if not my son and I might make the drive up. Do you need a firm head count?

Bought balloons to shoot for Saturday. Cleaned up my old 3-d targets. Starting to get ready for the kids. One of my son's friends was up here today and I gave his son a McKenzie deer. I have not seen a kid smile like that for years. He was still rubbing it when I had to leave.

I'm going to try to keep this post at the top until the weekend. You see , one of our goals for the first year of TTAS was to get a youth program in place. It's almost time for us to all dissapear into the woods until Feb 08 chasing the white-tails and we have yet to hold a youth event. This Saturday will fulfill that goal. We are fighting the extreme heat and the fact that school is starting up this week, but at least we will put forth the effort. Those who show up will have a great time ...I guarantee it!
