Not looking for size of rifle but the actual brand and style bullet.
Just considering changing. I know if it's not broke don't try to fix it. And they all work when you shoot them in the lungs. But I'm just curious what you guys use.

I've been using the 150 gr Remington accutips. If I don't get an exit because of them being a ballistic tip then I'm not getting a blood trail. Thinking of going to a soft point or some other type. I've been recovering my deer but it's very hard in the evening or in a thicket with little blood from no exit wound and a small entrance. And this occurs a lot with this round. I've used it for about 4 years and I would say 60% of the time there is no exit. When it does exit it looks like a horror movie but I'm wanting more consistent exit wounds. I used Core lokt for a while out of a 30-06 when I was younger.

Remington Core Lokt for me. I've killed a lot of deer with them across several different calibers including 7 mag.
 
Killed a couple deer last year with Hornady American Whitetail last fall. Very good round and very accurate as previously mentioned.
 
when I had my Winchester 270, 150 core lokt's were all I ever needed.. Have a rem 280 now and the 139 hornay sst's are all ill ever shoot out of it, bad to the bone

These are hard to beat for factory ammo IMO.
 
Another tip o the hat to Remington Corelokt, using both my 30-06 and especially for my new .243. I shot 20 rounds of the Corelokts before I hand loaded them, and they are super accurate out of the box. I'd heard good things about the Hornady Whitetail, and I'm sure they work great for some rifles / calibers. But mine went from a 1" group to like 6". All over the place. Even hand loaded using their brass they're about as accurate as the out of box Corelokt.
 
The best I like for bean fields is the Hornady Precision Hunter ELD-X. I have also had great luck with the Hornady Superperformance SST's.
 
I love the 270 wsm ballistic tips from Winchester for that cartridge.................I have purchased a 30 30 this year and love the Hornady Lever revolution pointed soft tips for it! Cant wait

I guess I have been lucky the last 21 yearrs cause all I ever use is either Remington or Federal promo loads in 130 grains core lock or equivalent and I kill 4 or 5 every year. Lucky also that most of the time they go down with in a step or two after being hit. Most have a entry and exit whole. And most years no misses. That said most of my yugos are under 100 yds.
