Here is a triple with 2 reds and a yote. The little white spot in the ditch is a possum. What would have been my best trapping pic was this location the year before....but I didn't have my camera. It was a red/grey/yote triple. Wish I had gone home to get the camera, never seen anybody else get that triple before. Caught 6 k9's on that property that morning.
Oh, and that red in the foreground cleaned up nice. Maybe the best I ever caught. Was in the 2nd lot of Semi-heavy at NAFA that auction:

All 3 from the same exact crawl under, or do they find a new spot after you catch one? I found they avoid a crawl under spot after a catch and move their travel just a bit down the fence.
Next time you can, please take a pic of the snare set from about 20yd away. I would like to see how it looks before a catch.
Yes, after you catch one they wont use the same spot for quite awhile. I am setting the same fence I just move down several yards after a catch. I need to start using a kill pole so I can reset the same spot after a catch. I'll snap a few pics next time I set more.
When selecting the new spot, do you look for fur on barbs or just pick a spot and block down everywhere else? It seems like it would be hard to pick a good new spot on the 4 or 5 strand fences, without sign.TnHoss":169fbmoz said:
On a fence line I always try to look for hair on the 2nd or 3rd strands. I'll hang my snare on the 3rd strand with the bottom of the snare about 2 inches above the 2nd strand. If no hair is present or it's deer hair I'll try and find a faint trail that is barely visible to hang my snare on. I don't use much blocking on my fence sets as they are already grown up with brush, weeds,etc. I will use a stick or two if it's not got a lot of natural blocking already in place.
