I've noticed a uptick of in and out of state you tubers, bloggers, and podcasters complaining on TN Turkey Facebook pages lately. Mainly about people discussing certain WMAs, giving away spots, etc.

Ive not engaged, because there is no arguing with them as they are doing no harm in their minds, but it's comical…all I can do is laugh now.
One dude (non resident) is now saying private land resident hunters are sabotaging WMAs by advertising…maybe so but when countless you tubers are clearly advertising how wonderful TN public land is then your all lumped together in my book.
Congrats social media, you won.

My favorite is when they name drop certain WMAs.... that are terrible. Having put boots on the ground in the past in some of these areas, I know how bad they are (one 20,000 acre WMA recorded 2 birds killed last year). Sending lurkers on a wild goose chase away from their favorite wmas :)

Ther is one good thing about the terrible WMAs... they hardly have any pressure from locals

Imagine that, YouTuber All-Stars complaining that social media is ruining their hunts. In reality, they don't need private land owners calling out their spots; they do a pretty good job of naming places where turkey populations are doing good when the rest of the state is suffering.

You know, I just keep coming back to the same sense of disgust now with just about anything to do with today's hunting culture, it's getting to where I want nothing to do with the present. I guess your supposed to have the attitude that things will be ok but I don't see it and haven't in a long time. OnX, latest camo , TSS,r/c decoys, super megahertz calls, reaping, specialized guns, scopes on shotguns…..to each his own but I don't want anything to do with any of that.

I got on YouTube yesterday and a video popped up called how to hunt turkeys. I clicked on it out of curiosity and within the first 30 seconds of the intro there are 2 assclowns crawling around behind a strutting gobbler decoy. If you watch 2 minutes of this video and then read the comments, you will realize how much trouble turkey hunting is in.

Lol. Nobody is saving their spots and putting YouTubers in them for a video anymore! They don't have time to scout, local intel is what most of them work on.

I'm old enough to remember the days before social media and cell phones.
If you were out fishing and the old lady was mad at you, you wouldn't know until you got home.
I wish the internet would go out for a few weeks.

I haven't read comments in videos in a long while but I do remember seeing countless comments about "hey, next time your around such n such, holler at me and I'll put you in a good spot".

I just find the irony funny.

There are some funny comments about referring people to Radnor Lake. 😂

Shoot I don't even share any of my kills on social media…I may share it on here as I don't know anyone here and all…people hunt too often to be able to broadcast/show off on social media…I don't need likes on social media to verify my status as a hunter or woodsman

The biggest thing when you got 20 or 30 thousand acres people like to hunt the easiest access places if they have to walk are hunt the turkey like deer they give up if every smart gobbler in the woods didn't gobble how many hunters would be there past 11 or 12 🤔
