If tn was turned into a one buck state, people in my area would kill ten bucks just so they could say they did. And they definitely would not quit hunting after they killed one. Just saying

Be that way over much of the state but not by many hunters. A couple of the most respectable hunters I know routine combine their tags and think nothing of it. They would argue with you all day if you called them law breakers.

Which I did one time. To them, there is not one thing wrong with having six buck tags to share as needed. Of course, it doesn't matter, they haven't killed two bucks each in years.

Now turkeys are a different matter.

Cheaters will always cheat. But you can't set "the rules" by those who will cheat. I firmly believe they make up a small percentage of hunters.

Exactly!

on the other hand you could go back to 11 bucks a season and I still would only kill one or two a year if the good lord chose to send a good one my way.

that makes them criminals.these same folks may shoplift or drink and drive. they dont have a functioning moral compass

I never fill all my buck tags if it aint a 3 year old or better i do t shoot and i know several others that are the same way, if u can consisitatnly kill 3, 3 year olds a year then i would love to k ow were ur hunting? Iv been lucky to harvest 2 inthe last 4 years and have let countless small bucks walk, if a one buck rule is ever to be in place were all gona have a better chance of killing a mature buck every year. So would you rather have quanity over quality? Not me!

Why dont the 1 limit guys focus on the roadhunters and spotlighters?

The roadhunters and spotlighters are not the real problem in deer
hunting, that's an old wife's tail these days, GW's still target
them, but the real pro-illegal hunters do it all day long.
We've already seen it posted on here were members know of people killing more...wonder if they turn them in???

I turn em in all the time!I have had people spotlight my fields and I turn them in and never had a warden come over.I guess there busy else where.A few years ago they busted a couple of guys here in grundy spotlighting and together they killed over 150 bucks.Do you think that hurts a legal hunters chance at killing a buck?I can bet grundy county isnt the only county with this problem.

U can turn them in all day long in Lawrence county and it doesn't do any good. The problem is the spotlighting here and the bad thing is that 99% of the ones that spotlight dont hunt and maybe actually set in the woods once a year but they ride around all night shoot deer and drink beer.

Ive killed 7 in the last 5 years and let some get away and passed up a couple one had one side of his horns broke off and one last year because i didnt want to tag out on thanksgiving day. There would have to be major improvement in poaching and a few other things before one buck will do anybody any good

Tennessee is what it is especially easy Tennessee. Doesent matter if we do have a 1 buck limit we will never be able to compete with the midweatern states or even west or middle Tennessee. We just have to trust TWRA knows what they are doing. Hope that someday you get a chance at a trophy.

Unless there is a major safey issue like shooting from a vehicle or spotlighting I wouldnt likely call the GW anymore than I would call the police if you passed me doing 80mph in a 70mph zone. People that cheat are miserable even if they succeed let'em woller in it.

Good point timberjack.

You should see them run when I cut the porch light on :D

Yep they are criminals! I know people in my community that buy their very small children lifetime license and kill deer using their tags! That's bad but whatakes it worst is they don't know what a no trespassing sign means! they have plenty of land to hunt but I guess they prefer to hunt where their not suppose too. It disgusts me!

Yea im from there and we need every deer we can get lol. spotlighting and roadhunting is like the 2 main hunting strategies up there and its not right for the people putting the time in to be cheated like that.

Y'all quit reviving old discussions and talking about freaking buck limits and go clean your shotguns and get ready for turkey season.
