We've used as much as 25lbs of 13-13-13 or 15-15-15 on each 80 foot long row of corn and it makes a huge difference. Keeping the coons out of it is the next task!

yep I have to resort to a cage trap and a .22, coons destroyed my crop last year

Well dang... I checked my trap yesterday morning. Still had the canned corn in a plastic lunch meat tray. I didn't check it this morning because I was working from 4am till 5 pm. So I got home this evening and made my way down there and could smell it from a distance. Caught a coon and he had already died in the trap and started to stink. Hosed off the trap and letting it bake in the sun tomorrow before I set it out again. The corn is dropping pollen pretty heavy right now.

A coon will die if left out in the sun very long. Put it in the shade and they're fine. I work with some coon hunters and they catch some to train their dogs with.

lol i switched to peaches and creme this year. i had forgotten that it is more tender than silver queen. that 50mph storm that came thru last week took a toll on it. most of it stood back up but i dont think it will make very much. i think next year im just gonna buy my corn to put up and plant me a couple more rows of potatoes, lol.

I'm actually not that big on corn on the cob, but peaches n cream I will eat right off the stalk while I'm standing in the corn patch.

After a day of cooking in the sun, the trap is set back out with a fresh tray of canned corn for bait. I also cleaned things up with the weedeater. The tassels are over my head now

Another opossum in mine this morning. I don't see a handle on your trap. Sure makes it easier picking it up rather than grabbing the front of the trap.

oh mine does have a handle. Don't know if they make them without. If they do then they want people to get bit by PO'd raccoons [emoji3]
