Anyone having any good luck with the yotes this year?
I'd like to try hunting them sometime just don't know if the stand i deer hunted out of last year is in a good place for them to be called in to

I reckon most anyplace would be ok as long as they are in earshot. Right now with archery season on you will have to use a shotgun, bow, or rimfire to be legal I think. Maybe a muzzleloader is legal too?-that reg is so ridiculous imo. Plateau Hunter

Yeah i figured you could just use archery equipment, didn't think you could use anything other than that for now.
You ever hunted em?

Amen plateau hunter, that law is a joke. Like we are so consumed with deer that we have to poach one if we saw it.can't wait till deer season ends and it is calling time again.

Yes I have hunted them-my newest favorite hunting passion. Plateau Hunter

WOW you're tearing em up lol. What kind of calls do you use,Plateau? How bout you redblood?

Start with a closed reed and progress to an open reed. Primos Lil dog is my favorite right now. Made a stand behind my house wed and had a big male come in within 30sec. Due to the fact we cant use centerfires yet hes still runnin!

I have several commercial hand calls and a Fox Pro e call too. I have had the best results with the hand calls and the Primos Lil Dog in particular. Probably most anything will work if you get the setup right and one is within range and in the mood. You HAVE to stay ALERT. There are many that you call that bust you that you may or may not know about. Plateau Hunter

anybody in hickman county hunt these yotes that would take me along so i could see how its done thanks cojax

The colder the weather the better the hunt. They get careless as the temp drops.

Just get on a tractor and start bushhogging. Every time I clip pastures they come in the field with me. They can't pass up the displaced rabbits and field mice I guess. I'm not positive what it is, but it never fails.

I love predator hunting. is it open season for yotes in TN? We used to hunt em year round in WV. What yal do with em when you kill them. I used to give them to a friends uncle who always wanted the hides. other than that we were just killin to try and at least take a dent out of the population or on peoples farms for them.
