I am sure someone can can have more input than me but, it is very small, you will have to hit them good. Maybe lungs, they will run off but nothing can live with a hole in its heart or lungs. I have skinned several that have had 22s in them from bad hits, neck, shoulder, hips. If had been hit with a larger cal. it would have been dead. To me any cal. is good if it will kill one of those pests. You will never know unless you try.
 
In my opinion, NO! Unless you are refering to a .17 Remington but I'm assumeing your speaking of a Hmr. I have witnessed way to many run-offs with the hmr. I like my .223 but if I'm hunting a wma I use A .22wmr, not as accurate but alot more knock-down.

Not really spoon I mean ya if you shoot it in the eye..anything will die...took 2 shots on mine that was shooting it in the shoulder and neck 25 yards!!! :eek:
 
If you are refering to a 17 centerfire then YES! The 17 remington will flat smoke em. The veteran predator hunters live and die by the 17 remington centerfire. If you want to see what a 17 caliber size cartridge will do on coyotes, look at what Vic Carlson did this year alone in kills. I think he knows better than anybody what a sub 20 caliber round will do on coyotes. He uses the 17 Remington, 19 Calhoon, and the 22 Hornet.

Yep....it'll kill one graveyard dead. Had a buddy kill one this year with a .17. It took 4 shots, but it most definately died....... :crazy:
