Interesting, I have never heard anyone complain about them before.
Always wanted to try one but will never own one because I still think $50 is high for a cooler.

used one last fall...kept ice for 7 days. The trick is to open it little as possible
I just can't see paying that much for a cooler. JMO

Over priced and way overrated!!!!
I'll stick with my Coleman Extreme. I keep plastic bottles of frozen water in the freezer and put them in there the day before to prechill and it works like a charm.

I have the 105 quart . I pre cool it first like its on the instructions and it held ice 10 to 12 days

For anyone who might be considering a Yeti cooler, don't overlook the Cabela's Alaskan Guide Grizzly series (which appears to be made by Yeti).
The Cabela's versions have a different configuration and color (I like the Cabela's ones better), and come in some different sizes than Yeti (probably so as not to directly compete, size for size). They otherwise appear close to same.
And at least if either were purchased per Cabela's, their version is usually less expensive.

Cabela's version is available in a 60-qt, 150-qt, and an absolute monster 400-qt.
The 400-qt ONLY weighs 90 lbs, empty.
When you have this much insulation, it can actually work against you, particularly if you store your cooler in a hot shed (causing the insulation to be the same temp as that hot shed). To provide superior, longer-lasting cooling, these coolers must be "pre-cooled".

I wouldnt have any other cooler.. we use ours everyday.
Like everyone else said if you pre chill the cooler itll hold ice for a week.

I bought my 3 Yeti coolers on the very real possibility that a one ton grizzly bear (Ursus arctos horribilis) would migrate from Canada or Alaska (an escape from a zoo is something I considered as well), cunningly search out my wife's mini-van at the soccer field one Saturday, deftly defy the security system in said van, open the back hatch, try to open my Yeti (that was pre-cooled and filled with ice 7 days prior), and steal my cold beer.
He's got a real surprise coming...

I use cheap Coleman coolers, not even the extreme, and when I need to keep something cold or frozen I go to Krogers and buy a block of dry ice. Wrap it in a towel and then place whatever on top of it followed by ice. Never had a problem but then again I haven't ever needed ice in a cooler for 7-10 days either. Just saying.....
