A friend and I wore some bass out. They were in 1 ft to 4 ft of water and hitting a rat-l-trap really well. We caught over 30 bass in just over an hour the largest was pushing 5 lbs. Wish I could have fished for several hours, they were stacked pretty good on a mud flat. I took home a crappie, he was 1-1/2 lbs on the digitals, definitely a good crappie for Priest.

Sounds like fun . I bet they are out deeper now that this cold front is passing through and knocking down the water temps.

Scott61, I have been catching bass on days like yesterday for over 20 years in about 5 different places, I have one favorite. The key is to have a couple of warm days and then a cold front move in, I prefer all the wind there can be out of the North, 20 mph+ is great. The next few days after that day, I have no clue, I have looked and looked for them and I do not know where they go or what they do. Some close friends that have caught them with me have looked for them also, they disappear. That one day for a few hours is incredible though.

I think they get on those mud flats because they warm up so quick and attract baitfish as well.
I was catching crappie like that yesterday too , but they were mostly short fish . I had my hands full spider rigging with 4 rods out the front ,with a couple of doubles .
I even caught a hybrid on one rod . It put up a good fight on a 16 ft crappie pole !
