Wobblegobble asked me in another thread to show some year to year progression. It is interesting how some deer make big jumps and others do not. Going from year 4-5 seems to be the biggest change.

I passed him twice during the early season hoping Double Drop was with him, but of course, he never showed up. On Thanksgiving, I got a text from my neighbor and it was a pic of Double Drop. He shot him that morning. Scored 151 and one of his drop tines was broken off. Nice deer, especially for TN.

Turkeyfoot was still alive in late January. But I haven't got any pictures of him so far this year. Every time I pull a card I have my fingers crossed! But he never shows up until November. His core must be off my farm until the rut when he starts cruising for does. We'll see...

In a similar boat with a couple old warriors myself.
Sure hope Turkeyfoot has survived and you get to at least see him soon. Be particularly interesting to see if he gains noticeable mass, which would make him all the more impressive.

I hate to bring it up ;) .. But just imagine what Double Drop would be this year if he was still alive... I always liked him..
Always had some character about him that keep getting better..
 
I love keeping up with them from year to year and seeing them grow. Teaches me a lot about aging and their activity not to mention it just makes it more fun to kill a deer you've watched for 3 years... If you get lucky enough!!!
 
I would have shot all of those bucks in your 2011 year pictures. One reason I never kill any big bucks, but I can't help it. When I see a nice 8 point with over 110"s of growth or so I usually shoot it. Too much hunting pressure to let them go.

I am not saying I shoot everything I see, and I am not shooting these deer so that someone else will not. I shoot these deer because if I didn't, I would probably be empty handed 4 out of 5 years.
