Trying to put a new prop on but can't get the thrust washer off of the shaft. I have tapped on it lightly with no success. I don't want to damage anything. Any ideas?

Spray it with some of that computer cleaner spray. Spray it alot and it will get cold. Then tap on it.

Hmm great idea. I'm sure I just didn't get rough enough with it. With this weather I wasn't in any hurry so when it didn't cooperate the first time I just quit. After some research it's a tapered fit so I'm sure it's just tight on the taper and not seized too bad. I will try that tomorrow thanks.

Update. I used a piece of 2" angle iron. I rested on the housing and got it under the washer. One good whack on the other end with my hand is all it took. I felt better about the wide contact area of the angle vs a large screw driver on the housing. I was just being a pansy lol.
