The past few years we've grilled deer steaks on Christmas Eve. Christmas day is family potluck. With two wild kids in my house, I simply prepare bread pudding the night before and place in the oven the next day.

It's a Christmas morning ritual at my Mom's house to have some backstrap seasoned, breaded, and fried in a cast iron skillet and served with homemade biscuits and gravy. Christmas Dinner will be slow simmered venison minute steaks over rice and gravy with veggies to be determined.

We bake a backstrap, then slice into medallions with barnaise sauce, fresh green beans, new potatoes and sour dough dinner rolls. Top it off with a good bottle of Pino Noir

Wow some good sounding stuff going on in here! I'm planning on grilling up some bacon wrapped backstraps. I could eat that stuff every day and never tire of it.

Christmas eve grill deer shoulder on grill, that has been marinating in, mustard, garlic, black pepper and soy sauce for 3 days.

I saved that to my favorites,I'll be trying it soon.I don't have deer stock,so i'll be useing beef stock like the recipe calls for.
