Truly you cant go wrong with either...i have XD40 and love it, although little bulky as CCW. I have G26, G27 & G19, reliable and indestructable and not as bulky as CCW. However my daily carry is Sig P220 Bi-Tone .45ACP.

I admit the XD is a fine handgun.. but I personally prefer the Glock.
 
I own both. An XD 45 Service model and a Glock 36 single stack .45ACP. The XD 45 functions flawlessly and will eat anything you put in it. Very accurate also. Great safety feature with the backstrap combined with the trigger feature.
The Glock 36 however is my daily carry gun and it too functions flawlessly and reliably. I used to carry the XD but with the double stack mag it is just to bulky and heavy for daily carry. If I did not own the Glock I would seriously be looing at an XDs, the new single stack .45 from Springfield.
