I hunted a 5 point unit last year and was into antelope every second of it. I'll be restocking points for a few years so I can go back to the same unit.
 
Currently sitting at 3 points not sure where we will put in for or if we will wait another few years.
 
Haven't done the research yet. Sitting on 9 points. I've done 2nd choice hunts twice in the last 4 years.

Current plan is to shoot for the stars and hope to draw second choice again. Toying with the idea of taking an almost 5 yo on the 2nd choice hunt before he's stuck in school the following fall. I may realize I'm crazy before then though.
 
Without looking at a map, 21 should be close to Kaycee. If you hunt there make sure you give a nod to Chris LeDoux because that's about all there is in that town besides the little diner that serves up Rocky Mountain oysters and serves as a local beer store too.

That's all I know about 21.

Hunted outside of Newcastle several years ago. Great hunt. Private land though. Hoping to go back in next couple of years.

As for Chris LeDoux....he was truly the real deal....not a "music city cowboy" ....he didn't just sing about the western lifestyle.....he lived it.
 
I'm not sure the rough ground = less people theory will work for goats. There are less tags in units with less goats, thus fewer people. When you go that route you will then need a pocket full of points. My best advice for avoiding people is to pick a unit with a long season and go later. The goats will definitely be more sporting late season and the bulk of hunters will be tagged out.
 
Everyone I've ever talked to said go opening weekend because after that they are hard to come across. Think I'll just cross my fingers.
 
I have made trips at various times ( even the last week). They aren't hard to come across at any time in my experience. They are definitely more spooky later on, but opening day is a war zone. Now if you go to a unit that's really limited for access those animals could potentially be driven onto private early on. If you want to pm me I'll share what I can on particular units. Well between the (2) of us we applied for (5) tags. Figured if they taste as good as I have been told, we are going to try to bring back as many as possible. This will be our first time chasing antelope. Should be fun.
 
Not a fan of the sagebrush taste, best way I've found is to make jerky out 'em. Love to hunt them, have killed a bunch but they are not high on tablefare imo...

Remember guys, that the worst antelope unit in WY is better than the best in most states. Don't overthink it, just get a tag & enjoy, especially if it's your first western trip. What Black Eagle said is spot on, avoid the early season crowds for a mediocre unit & you'll just about have it to yourself.

2 grandson's & I sitting on 14 points. Just waiting on one of them to finish pharmacy school so we can start applying for Red Desert. Until then, it'll be leftover tags for me!

Well drew area 32 either tag, was unsuccessful on the doe tags. May take the shotgun and try for some small game as well.

Good luck. 32 has been on my radar for awhile. The whole west border is the N Platte River. Make sure you take a flyrod with some streamers and hoppers.

Already planned on buing a 5wt or a 6wt, figure my fiberglass 3wt will be too light.

Now I just have to decide which week to go, not sure if it would be best to be there for the opener, or latter to let pressure die down.
 
Congrats on the tag! My granddad struck out on a high quality unit, historically with his points he had a 100% chance of drawing...not this year. Looks like next year Im just going to choose a quality unit that requires 2+ points less than he has just so he can go. Its getting ridiculous on drawing tags now.

I know nothing really about 32, its close to Casper right? If so, I suspect opener will be busy and so will every weekend with being so close to Casper. 600 tags with almost a month to hunt...deer and elk season will come in later, that should lessen the crowd. The bigger bucks will likely be shot out on opener and pushing the antelope to private. If enough public exist then that might not be too much of a issue, especially if your able to find a spot that requires you to walk in. Most antelope hunters glass from a road. Weather can get nasty the later in season too, so keep that in mind. I almost got stuck in Casper a few years back in mid October from a snow storm.

We have decided to hunt opening week ( we will get there the afternoon of opening day). Got the cabin reserved, near the river.
