A little late making this post work has been crazy since we got back.

We got to our cabin about 1:00 opening afternoon, cabin wasn't ready so we went to check out some ground few miles down the road. By 3:00 we were quartering him up. It's crazy the amount of antelope, never hunted them before so wasn't too picky. I did pass on two smaller ones.
Did get to fish the miracle mile, didn't do very good. But drove up to the Big Horns and loved the fishing there ( it's nice when your fishing a steam about the size of Treamont, and they are big enough to break your leader) I will be making a return trip there just to fish.

Also ran my wife all over the state to different historical sites, didn't make it to Yellowstone but maby next time

Public DYI, last year while packing out an elk she asked if we could hunt something lighter this year, so I cashed in some points.

That's a fine antelope and it is truly amazing country out there. Congrats - definitely jealous of the fishing as well. Let me know what you think of the meat. We didn't like ours unless it was ground into sausage or snack sticks.

Looks awesome. Been wanting to transition to Wyoming for antelope. What part of the state and roughly how many years to draw if you don't mind me asking?
We were in central part of the state, I think I had 2 points but may have been 3, I put in the special draw since I had such few points.

The heart trimmed up, then just seasoned lightly and seared in butter, med. rare was amazing. We have had just some steaks I cut up off the rear quarters, and it was good, (wasnt as good as elk, which is all we have been eating since last October). Have high hopes for the tenderloin and backstrap, havent tried them yet.

I'll admit that I did not like antelope at all. I'll take elk, mule deer, whitetail, moose or caribou any day over antelope.

I noticed you mentioned the "Miracle Mile". I used to hunt Areas 47/48. These areas are located E of the Miracle Mile but fairly close. This was prob 25 years ago. Was just wondering if the hunting is still good there?? Number of points required?? BTW, I live in Colorado but am orig fm Dyer, TN. Perhaps could still hunt antelope. Had stroke about 10 months ago. Great trip and congrats!

Antelope is my favorite big game meat besides cow elk. But the key to antelope meat is getting the meat off the carcass and into the ice chest asap. Leave the hide on for a couple hours after killing one, and it is almost inedible

Congratulations on your goat.

Took my oldest daughter several years ago to Wyoming, near Wright. No points were needed for the area we hunted. Private ranch, paid trespass fee on me, the rancher did not want money for my daughter. Came home with an antelope each, and a mule deer for her. Was hard hunting for deer there that year, too warm. Antelope was very good, processor in Gillette processed my daughters, we quartered mine where he lay and packed him out and to the cooler. Hoping to get back to hunt that way again someday.
