Me and my best friend and bass tournament partner were fishing a small back lake off the White River prefishing for a redman final. It had been cold and misty all morning and the fishing was slow. And as always happens when it's slow I wasn't paying as much attention as I should. I flipped my jig into a small bush and looked at Bubba and said "maybe we should go try the dikes.." Look back and my line was moving sideways out of the bush. I slammed back on my 7.6 flipping stick hard.. As I always do when jig fishing.. And the fish on the other end didn't give and inch. It surged for open water causing me to chase it around the front of the boat stripping drag as it went. I screamed " get the net!!!" Hoping against hope it wasn't some trash fish. About 2 seconds later it rolled and surged for the bottom again. I about choked. I have a 11 pound 7 ounce bass on my wall and this one was for sure bigger. It was so big it could barely throw its head over when it broke the surface the second time. As it turned for the 3 rd time I saw my jig come out like a rocket and slam into the side of the boat and I watched that monster return from whence it came. I was shaking so bad I had to sit down for a bit.. All Bubba kept saying was.. That's the biggest fish I have ever even seen.. Haha.
