would you trust this scope

I would rather have a scope as a red dot,,and I like a little power for shots to 150-200 yards

I have one on my Marlin lever action .357 carbine. I think it's as quick as a red dot when you put it on 1x and being able to zoom it up to 3x for sighting in or longer shots is nice.

I'm sure that would work fine but I like a little more power. I have a Leupold Vari-X III 1.5x5x20 on one of my AR's and I like it. I too like a scope better than a red dot. I also have an Aimpoint and I just seem to shoot better groups with the crosshairs.

i would go with a trijicon acog. i shoot one on a m4 and hit 300m targets regularly

depends on what i would be using it for. lol, in my early military days, i always shot 40/40 on a naked a1 or a2.

For a fighting rifle I want a lighted reticle or red dot. I imagine it would be ok as long as you had optimal lighting conditions but that ain't always the case.

If you're fighting, you need something you can get a good target picture quickly. Nothing beats a good unmagnified red dot for quick target aquisition and follow ups. However, if you want a good, inexpensive scope for the AR, you should take a look at the Burris Timberline. They are relatively short, have the ballistic plex reticle for shots out to several hundred yards and they are fairly inexpensive.
