Would you/How would you hunt this?

This is a 70 acre farm, mostly row crop- corn this year. I have always avoided hunting the upper section since it is close to the residence and the highway.
However, I found a well-traveled trail and probable bedding area that may change my mind.

From the 'well used trail' to the highway is only about 100 yards. The ridge from the tree line to the edge of the ridge is about 50 yards. The deer have been eating acorns along the trail.

I have reservations about shooting one and it run into the highway and get plastered- and during MZ/rifle firing a shot that close to the house and freaking the renters out.

I have a trail cam at the bend of the creek and catch several deer on it. So it seems they are traveling from the 'bottom' down the creek then making the hairpin turn to get up the ridge. Thought about setting a stand or blind on the south side of the creek near the bedding area to catch them coming/going up at the transition of the creek/ridge. That area is much more navigable than just to the east. The surrounding area is mostly pasture/row crop/ wooded.

Thoughts?

Unfortunately, the neigboring farm house is a little close. I know my rendition doesn't give the best map.

I would hunt the end of the ridge myself

That wooded ridge looks like a good spot, deer should come up from the bedding area, especially bucks, and run tha ridge looking for does between the corn fields

Wait for the right wind and give it a go. Also, I wouldn't mess around too close to the bedding area

Is look at setting up on the other side of the steep ridge/creek were u could over look corn and creek bottom

There should be two good pinch points on each side of the steep drop. I'd also look for a heavily used creek crossing near the steep drop.

The blue dots represent where deer likely bed on a SOUTH wind and the red dots where they bed on a NORTH wind. The black dots represent trails based on the topography.

The blue S is where I would hunt on a SOUTH wind and the red Ss are where I would hunt with a NORTH wind. However, this is merely speculation based on this map.

I agree. However, there's a good chance the wind will swirl with the ridge right behind it.

I like your stand setup but to be honest I think you should go with your gut and hunt your setup until experience tells you different .Experience in the field is priceless ;)You may not have the best setup but only time will tell and we are just going to leave you second guessing yourself .
