After 2 slow weeks of hunting Catoosa I came back home to try and fill a doe tag for the freezer and not lose the opportunity with muzzleloader closing today.
This was my first hunt during the statewide season that wasn't a draw WMA hunt.
I connected on a nice mature public land doe.
My first doe kill with a muzzleloader in all the years I've done this.
She ran down hill and over a bluff.
Sure made it tough getting her out.

Hey! Way to go and great shot!

Did you have any help dragging her out? That would have been nice, you may feel it tomorrow.
I feel it now LOL!
My Daddy was with me but he's pulled a muscle in his back and it's not getting better and these last few days of hunting Catoosa and walking with his Stand hasn't helped.
He wasn't able to help me drag.
I got her out myself but it took me a few minutes ha.
I was beat by the time I did.

Congrats! I use a "made-on-the-spot" drag like theat. I just carry a small rope and cut a limb. Sure beats grabbing antler or hoof and dragging.

Nice!

I don't go in the woods with out my Glenn's deer handle
Handy piece of equipment
My next add to keep in the truck is 100' rope 2 pulleys and a couple lashing straps. For those up hill drags.
That one was ruff on me.
