Man and my father-in-law played golf while I worked today.
Then man decided he wanted to try and fish in one of the ponds at the country club.

They waited on me. :D

We got there and started with the buzz baits.
Caught a couple each and then they kinda turned off so I checked things out to decide what to use. The water was relatively shallow and pretty clear. I also noticed quite a bit of algae in the water so switched to a shad colored fluke.

I went with no weight to keep it out of the mess, plus I like as little weight as possible with all my plastics.

If there was a way to tell the difference I would have sworn these were Florida strain bass.
The biggest I caught weighed maybe a pound and a half but WOW how they would fight.

Beautiful coloration and every one of them was THICK.

The wind was pretty rough and casting into the wind made me backlash a bit once.
I cast then spent a few minutes digging the mess out.
Then as I reeled up the slack I felt something "heavy" on the end of my line.

I hated it but the fish had scooped it up and swallowed it.
I cut the hook as far down as I could and let it go, maybe he will be ok.

Ended up catching 17. :D
Man caught 6 and my father-in-law caught one. :D

Funniest part was I only moved a total of about 15 feet the whole time. They circled the pond like 4 times while we were there.

Only fished about an hour and a half and had a blast.
I can see us going back again soon. :)

Didn't take time to take any pictures. I wish I would have though because some of the bass were simply beautiful.

Good day.

Oh yeah, the fish are gonna be in trouble when I get that electric fillet knife. :D
