We are going to be in the area of the Wolf River WMA on Sunday, and are throwing around the idea of a Sunday morning hunt. We have never hunted on this end of the state, as we are from east TN. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Not looking for someone's honey hole, just a little advice. We are used to hunting mountians.

Haven't decided which unit yet. My first thought was unit 1. But either is a possibility

I did realize that it will be in the CWD area and will be prepared to Debone anything we were to kill. What is one to do with the carcass after deboning in that area.

This has been a sticking point for others in your situation as I am not aware of a feasible and legal means to dispose of the carcass. I'd contact TWRA Region 1 in Jackson, TN and see if they have any advice for you.

There's a carcass disposal area on site if you are there while it is open.

I'm not sure about the legality of boning one out in the field on the WMA.

Those would be my 2 top choices, or drive to a wma outside the zone to hunt.
 
Thanks for all of the input. I will give Region 1 a call this afternoon. At this point we may look at other options, possibly Natchez Trace

Vj333, thanks for the help. But given the amount of time we will have on Sunday,we have decided to skip out on hunting during this trip. We are limited on time, so with the CWD regulations if we were to kill anything, it would be possible that we would be cutting it a little too close on time.

I appreciate all of the help and input from everyone who replied. There were lots of things that had not been considered with this being in the CWD unit. I knew I could count on you guys to get me pointed in the right direction.
