WMA Draw Question

I am just now getting into putting in for draw hunts. I have tried to look on the TWRA website, but I am still a little confused about the draw system. For every year you put in and DO NOT get drawn are you awarded a point that increases your chance of being drawn the next year...basically the more points the better the chance? Also, is there a way to just put in for a point? Thanks for any help!

Yes, If you are not drawn for ANY WMA quota hunt, you get a preferrence point for the following year.

There is not an option to just put in for a preferrence point. However, with it taking around 7 preferrence points before being drawn for a Presidents Island buck hunt, you are fairly well assured of getting a preferrence point for several years if that is all you put in for.
