WINCHESTER 290

I had a 190 back in my preteen n teens.. Always shot good except never could keep the cheap rimfire zeroed.. Kmart Blue Light Specials..They would shoot a ok plinking but not in the woods.. Never did gets any busy tails with it n still peas me off. Sold a long time ago n moved on..

Awhile back was in a local shop who has a good selection of used guns.. They had 2 a 190 n a 290 only difference is the 290 has a checkered stock.. I looked n then passed..
Didi bring back the memories however..n Itch that never was scratched.. Both in excellent shape and hardly shot..
A week or so later went back in they still had em both..This time a deal was made
While later than wanted or hoped to..finally got around to scopeing it..
Hopefully gets to shoots in the next couple days. And bust a few bushytails..

I have a 190 that I picked up about two year ago. It still shoots real good but would rate the exterior as fair. It needs reblued. Good luck on the bushytails.

I have a Winchester 290 that was my first squirrel rifle. It's killed a few truck loads of squirrels and it is what and how I learned to shoot. It is very accurate and reliable for a inexpensive .22 but is hampered by a pretty bad trigger. I would use 22 shorts at times and they seemed to kill even better than lrs for some reason. In my halcyon youth I killed 12 squirrels with a single shot and no misses...I ain't that good anymore even with my real nice squirrel rifles. The 290 was a cheaper version 22 semiauto replacing the model 77 when Winchester went into the tank...but it worked and worked well. Thanks for the memories...

I have a Winchester 275 in .22 WMR; it's the slide action.

I have no idea where it came from. I thought it was a friends who guns and ammo I stored for while he and his wife were deployed overseas. But he looked at it a couple weeks and says it's not his.

I think it's going to be one of my greatest life mysteries.

I got a 190 as my first rifle, wore that thing out, trigger was bad, but killed rabbits, squirrels, and a bunch of other stuff. Me and a buddy went from Necco wafers to aspririn, killed a ton of ammo. Just sitting by the creek, shootin' stuff. Good times.

I had a 290 also it had a gold trigger, 1 of the best shooting 22 semi automatic i have owned that had a skinny barrel, would love to own a browning but out of my wanna pay price range these days
