I have been hunting farms in wilson county and priest wma OFTEN since September. Unfortunately had to take a break over the past week (of all times). When I left the stand I was seeing some chasing, lone fawns and young bucks cruising, and manged to tag a decent 9 point. The activity was consistent each trip out. Got back in the woods Saturday and things were different, saw little activity and today started seeing large groups of does moving together again. Did things start to go cold on anyone else? What are other hunters in the area experiencing?

Has big time for me in Wilson and trousdale county :(

Went out this morning and after seeing a parade of about 10 does and fawns I told myself I was done for the year. Walking out I nearly got plowed over by a buck dogging the heck out of of a doe. Looks like there's still some action in the woods to be had!

I hunt on the eastern side of the county and they've been chasing for a week. Mostly small bucks chasing. Hoping the bigger bucks move in this next couple weeks.

Saw 17 does this morning. 0 bucks :( most of those does we're all back in big packs

I hunt western Wilson County. Same for me. Big buck sightings are down and the does have bunched back up. In my opinion I am guessing most of the breeding is done. The big boys are still hanging with the few remaining hot does and therefore not being seen.

What are some of the strategies yall use coming in to the late/post rut? How are you hunting right now? I can't say I've ever seen a mature buck after the primary rut is over. I will be in the woods regardless until duck season opens and wouldn't mind filling out my last tag for the year while I do it

Currently, I am hunting a ridge-top travel area that the does frequent. I've never had much luck seeing mature bucks after Dec 1. Ideally in late season I would hunt a preferred food source when a major cold front has come through for the outside chance a mature buck shows up at last light. The property I hunt does not have any type of crops so things are pretty slow after the rut.

Saw a big buck (140") this morning on Coles Ferry. He was by himself standing 50yds from the rd watching traffic.

Go ahead and let me know exactly where. I live off Coles ferry and for sure don't want him to be a danger for drivers :)

Coming from 109 just before Friendship where the road crosses the creek. In the little field on the left about the little rock bluff. He was a dandy, wish I'd had time to get a pic
