went by there today, all disc'd up, couldn't see anything planted yet. But dang, every 10 steps there were doves flushing out of the trees. Even saw a few pigeons. Looks like it's gonna be good. Never dove hunted those fields before.
 
I talked to the area mgr and he said they will be planting the fields in wheat. Opener should be good if the farmers haven't cut the corn yet....

I probably will find some other field to hunt just to avoid the crowd. but no doubt Williamsport should be awesome. I've been seeing a lot of doves in a lot of places actually. Hope to kill one or two, my wing shooting skills suck.
 
I hope to kill 15! I'd probably have to shoot at 100 to get them though. I've been looking around and found a couple of fields that are pay to hunt for about 15-20 bucks which is reasonable. I also found some that were 100 dollars and up for one day of hunting. That's a bit steep.

I fish Williamsport a lot and on the way I see lots of corn and sunflower fields. I don't think they are part of the Williamsport management areas, probably privately owned farms. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to knock on the door next time and kindly ask permission.
 
Headhunter, if I posted my kills the bed of truck would be loaded down with shells and maybe 3-4 doves on tailgate lol..good shootin!

crazy thing is I can wear them out and did several times last year, but I can still have a day where I can't hit one.

I wouldnt do it. We checked it the last two days saw zero birds anywhere. Did see a few in pouring down rain at yanahli.

yeah I saw the birds at w'port several weeks ago so I wouldn't say they are still there, but I have been seeing doves just about everywhere I look lately. Yanahli seems to have plenty
 
Yea I know I have to mostly in town of all places. I have buddies that have been watching the williamsport fields all week an saw little if any birds. Blows my mind they always seems to have a bunch of birds.nobody has even cut corn to draw them away either. I have no idea what happned to them.
