Unbelievable what a deer can take and still go…

I won't post all of the carnage pics, but the 270 Win with 140gr interlocks did a number, yet she still ran! Only made it less than 50yd, but dang!

I am impressed with that load, though. Max load of H4831in star line brass and CCI200 primers. Shoots itty bitty groups at 3100fps MV

They are tough critters for sure! Shot a doe this year with my .260 she didn;t even react to the shot and ran 50-60 yds. If I didn't see her fall I would of guessed, I missed.
Field dressed her and found she was hit right through the heart, unbelievable!

It's amazing how far they can go in just a few seconds. That 270 did its job very well. Congrats on the nice doe!

They are the toughest it seems to me. I shot the heart out of a buck once and he ran straight up the steep ridge he was traveling up when I shot him, wide open, stood there for a few seconds, then buckled and fell, tumbling back down the ridge 20 yards or so. 06 with 180 corelokts . Amazing at times.

Yep they're already dead but they just don't know it and run. The good thing is it's an easy Blood Trail and usually short!

They are tough animals! My son shot a doe that was slightly quartering away back in Nov. Shot behind shoulder and came out in front of opp shoulder. She ran 30 yards out the plot, down another 50 to another, across this plot, back up into a field then circled back around to head of 2nd plot. Total ran distance was over 125 yards. I thought he put a bad shot cause of way she ran.

She was standing in wide lane left of center of pic. She ran through it, down into the bigger below, then back up into the field you can see in the back before circling back down to the larger plot.

Entrance is dark spot mid body on front shoulder.

Exit hole. Shot took out one lung and front of heart.

Somehow feels like the does run harder, being less prone to stop to gather their wits (and bleed out) than bucks.
