Will he survive…..

This is s deer we named Limo. Huge framed (rack and body 4.5). Past him up in back yard in early november. Never saw him again. He has shown back up and has probably dropped 100 pounds. He doesnt look shot or injured so extremely thin. So do you feel he can recover from his poor body condition or should we shoot (my son, im tagged out).

If you get a video of him it may change my mind. He may be hurt and you can't tell it from the picture.

Coat looks slick and kept up in the pic. If so he is fine.

If you see him in real life and his hair is completely unkempt, odds of survival go down considerably.

Unless your son already has a wall full of racks bigger, then let him shoot him and be excited about it. The odds of seeing the same deer next year as a 5.5 yr deer go way down even without factoring in the odds of him surviving in his current condition.

Have to agree with this. I'd still have him tested too, even though you may be way outside cwd zone. It has popped up in places with no rhyme nor reason to how it got there.

I shot a mature deer November 13th. That lost probably 50 to 70 pounds since the first part of October. I dont live far from you. Just a crazy intense rut this year around me. The most intense I've ever seen.

He's been a maleho...bet he's battled a few running after those females. Stress of the rut takes it's toll on some bucks even to the point of not eating . I had a great looking black male pit bull that everyone that had a female wanted to breed to him . He'd get so exited when we'd pull up to a house with a female in heat . I'd get him out and he'd crap about three times then throw up . He liked to fight but more than that he liked to breed . That's this buck ...he's the stud the rest fear when he comes around !!! Coat looks slick and IMO he's just trimmed down from running wemins Great looking rack as well .
