Wild Squirrels

If you hunt enough different places you'll eventually hunt a place where the game just seems to be super wary. There's a bottom not far from my house where the squirrels are some of the wariest I've ever come across. The surprising part is that it's the same bottom where a little farther down the squirrels are relatively easy to kill. It's not because it's pressured because no one hunts there. The slightest sniff or faintest snap of a twig and from 150 yards away they're 90 mph out of the country. They're the hardest hunting squirrels I've ever seen. Anyone else run into a place like this?

LOL reminds me of our back yard when I was growing up.
The slightest squeak from the sliding glass door and EVERYTHING on that 4 acres was GONE. :D

There was a place I used to hunt in between Bartlett and Arlington that had tall trees and squirrels that never got hunted but were incredibly skittish. A "good" trip was 3 squirrels. Lots of times I left with one.

I saw lots of them, but they were hard to sneak up on. I think the abundance of mature timber (open forest floor) made it worse, but they just seemed to run off with very little disruption.
