Everytimei take my wife fishing something goes wrong with my boat, 30 minutes after getting to Pickwick my trolling motor quit, no warning , just quit, I need a strong drink

We've had that same luck with my dad's boat. Last year, my brother and I had it quit on us below Pickwick Dam, which made for a challenging day of fishing. 2 years ago, the trolling motor blew fuses all the time. Fixed that by getting some fishing line unwrapped from the shaft and converting to a circuit breaker.

Then the plug went bad to the point where you had to hold it in by hand.

Then this year some of the speed selections stopped working. That got fixed, but then one of the steering cables came loose 2 weeks ago.

When it rains it pours!

Check your connections in the foot pedal and in the head of the trolling motor. Mine had corroded a little and mine just quit. Cleaned them and I was back on business.

I feel ya man.
Replaced the plugs in the big motor and that fixed that.
Got to Garrett and the trolling motor quit.
Figured it out, it is a short or loose wire in the power cord.
Ain't fixed it yet but I know what's wrong. :D
