Leaving work at 11:00. Picking boy up from school at 11:30. Be at field by 12:00. Sit in the shade under a tent with hunting buddies and be ready by 3:00 for the action to start.

I might go friday morning rather than thursday at noon. If I go thursday at noon, I get to enjoy the heat of the day and then leave by 3pm so I can shower and be at work by 5pm. I don't want to take off work because it's not like spring turkey season or something... I'll be out there soon though, trying to shoot a few doves.

I haven't missed an opener since Dad first took me when I was 5. This will make 22 years in a row. Hopefully this year will be better than last.

For the dove opener? I'm skipping out Wednesday afternoon and heading to East TN to hunt with my ol' lady's boss. Its an annual trip that invloves lots of late night whiskey drinking and dove hunting with a hangover :)
My ol' lady insists that it is good for her job security that I go hunting with her boss and stay within his good graces. Drinking whiskey all night and enthusiastically hunting all day is a tough gig, not for the amateur, but I'm not complaining.

Sounds rough. Every now and then, you've got to suck it up and take one for the team. I'd say your better half owes you one.

im taking the day off & hope to spend it with some buddys ,hook wont share where he will be hunting so we will just take a shot in the dark & go somewhere, cant pick the wrong place every year, can I :)

Now that's what I'm talking about! I can remember my dad getting me out of school in 6th grade. I don't remember ever missing an opening day since then, and I am 46 now.

I will work will 10:00 or so and be in the field by 11:30. With some clouds, maybe we can limit by 2:00. Without clouds, will probably have a few stragglers til later when the barrel melting should commence!

I be on the field around 5 am going to have to beat the crowd looks like this year, taking my son with me, he just bought him a new shotgun benili i think but it aint going to matter im going to show him how the old man does it,cant wait!
