These are pics off one of the points I cleared about 3 winters ago. I planted pines on both sides and left the middle open to make a narrow plot. BSK may remember, it was an area that he said he would love to gun hunt because all the bottoms came together and he could see bucks scent checking the area. It is turning into exactly what I wanted. Some of the pines are 7ft. tall and as you can see it is filling in nicely. This area should be smokin this year. Plenty of people thought I was crazy a few years ago for clearing areas like this. With the biggest set of hoof prints I have seen in a long time here. I don't think I am crazy at all.

Here is the plot that joins it. They had the soybeans down to the ground, of course. I put the stakes and ribbon on it and will spray in a few weeks. It will look a lot better and if it gets to much pressure it will be a great fall plot. This is my first year of really attemting a plot here.

Last year a buddy missed a buck right here doing exactly what we were talking about. a 2.5 yo buck was pestering 3 does and 15 minutes later a buck is standing in this spot. He missed and the buck went exactly into where these pics were taken(right side of the plot)

A secluded foot plot. I love the idea and have talked about doing the same one day when I get my own land. Maybe when that time comes I can get BSK to come take a gander lol
 
I think they will if they back off them for a few weeks. Hopefully we will get some good rain for 2-4 weeks and that should give them a boost. If it doesn't work then fall plots will be put in.

Wish I had time to work on my farm, but I've done very little this year.
 
Boy they like those beans on that point dont they!! I guess they are so hungry by the time they get up that hill, they just have got to eat!! lol

All kidding aside, that is a cool spot, and it is only going to get better with time, good job Richman!
