Who shoots a .270 WSM

i have shot 3 short mags, 243,300,270. Everyone of them had feeding problems. Not degradeing, just facts. i'd have to shoot one that cycled without problems before i could buy one.
 
I roll my own.

Of the factory ammo that I have shot, Federal tends to load their factory ammo a little too hot. I have found numerous cases with pressure signs with a sticky bolt lift and extraction.

The basic 150 gr Winchester Power Point grouped very well and was easier on the wallet than other factory ammo before I started reloading.

I didn't purchase one nor do I have plans on purchasing one. I'm a .300 Win Mag and 7mm-08 shooter myself depending on where I'm hunting that day. I was just wondering who has one and what kind of ammo they shoot. Thats all.....just wondering.

ahhhh, what better way to stimulate the economy. :)

btw, the 270 wsm is flatter and farther with more knock down than the standard 270.

i shoot a 308 and a 300 win mag. i use the 300 win i hunt fields or rough areas when i need to be sure my buck is going down.
 
I have a 270 WSM, and love it. Aside from the fact that everything I have killed with it fell in its tracks without a quiver, the rifle itself is lighter and shorter than a magnum actioned rifle, and even most standard actions as well. Also I have never had any feeding problems with my rifle. I hear people griping about gun companies coming out with new rounds so they can make money....personally I want gun manufacturers to make as much money as possible, and so should you. They are still making the classic rounds as well, so spend your money on whatever makes you happy. As far as ammo, I reload, so the whole too expensive to shoot doesn't apply to me. When I did shoot factory ammo, I shot a special run only stocked by BassPro , it was a 130 gr Swift Scirocco made by Remington. I haven't seen them in years.
 
I shoot 140 grain Winchester Failsafes out of my Browning A-bolt 270 WSM. It shoots great, no feeding problems ever, and kills stone dead. Too bad they quit making the failsafes, I'll have to find something else when I run out.Thought about the 130 grain Federal Barnes X.Almost all of the deer I've shot fell in their tracks and I've killed all of my biggest deer with this same gun and load.I love my 270 WSM, but the standard 270 does just fine like it has for the last 80 or 85 years. I doubt a deer could tell a difference in either one.
 
bo man, 8pointbetter, B&C chaser, I have a full box of ammo if you could use it. It is Winchester silver ballistic tips and accubonds. It is factory ammo. First one that says they will take them can have them. Just p.m. me a address.
 
I have an A-bolt 270wsm...When I bought the rifle I picked up a couple boxes of 130gr silvertips (bad choice) the rifle did not like them...so I stepped up to the 150gr sub moa's, but as far as shooting something less then 100yards it blows right through slow expansion would be my guess...now I use the win 150gr pp still sub moa out to 250 beyond that it might be me...would not trade it for the world...
