Welp, soon as I sat down this morning I had two does off to my right out of bow range just creeping through the hardwoods. About 30 minutes later a doe pops up 30 yards in front of me… as I go to grab my bow here came two little bitty fawns right behind her so I decided to leave mama alone. Another hour or so goes by and I get yet another doe to my right, watch it as it grazes and casually heads down a trail commonly used. Never got a shot on her though. No meat in the freezer yet but this first morning back in the woods was a blessing and my goodness what a beautiful brisk September morning. Makes you start to realize how good life is when you're out there in a tree in a morning like that.

Got up in the tree late (6:45) after getting lost in the woods for a bit. No sightings except a few does on the drive out. First time hunting this early in the year. Great weather tho.

How late is it worth staying out in the morning this time of year?

You just never know with this weather. Actually I had a mature 8 pt. work a scrape at 1:30 pm yesterday afternoon per the Tactacam reveal. Hoping to have a run in with him later today. Nothing but does and yearlings seen this morning from first light to 8:45 am. Beautiful morning in the woods

Had two blowing continuously for five minutes. One was on my right I was trying to find it when one blew less than ten yards behind me, scared the crap out of me.
One behind me had a fawn with it , ones to my right appeared to be three does. Kicked meself in the but for not taking the tree stand.

I'm in Yanalhi. Any recommendations for morning VS evening these next few weeks? Just trying to get a feel for the area. Second year TN hunting public lands

I was at work by 0630. Then at 0830 my Son called, was very excited, watching 2 spikes spar in the backyard. They were 20 yards from our back door. He sent a 30sec video, and said they'd stayed there for 10 more minutes, messing around.

I got up this morning, reluctant to hunt early season mornings, and went anyway. Got out of truck, put backpack on, grabbed bow, and realized I didn't wear my harness  Now I'm at home surfing the web.
