Is anybody harvesting any I've always started canning the first week of June Here it is June 10th All I have are Blooms more blooms than I can remember Thanks

I have a bunch of blooms on my pole beans and they're growing like crazy.
I just planted the Mountain white half runners to run on my little bit of corn a little over a week ago so they are pretty small. I gave to corn a big head start. It's over waist tall. But wow, the beans came up good. I think more came up than I planted.

heirloom seed. I never heard of em til I got married. All my FIL ever grew. the seeds look like peanuts. The bean turns red when ready to shell. They are a smaller bean. Bush type. Been growing them for about 6 years now. Sometimes the seed is hard to find.

That sounds very cool (never seen or heard of them before)...I'm growing some heirloom pole beans now myself. We call them "Geneva Beans" because we can date them back to my buddy's great grand mother Geneva :) . He sent them to UT Ag dept a few years back in hopes of figuring out what they really were but they were actually clueless. They are a real good running pole bean which I'm hearing is harder to find. My uncle says white half runners don't seem to be the same anymore. Would I ever be able to interest you in swapping some heirloom seeds?

i guess i misnamed them as "heirloom" you can buy them. either online or i get mine locally at Mayo garden Center. Just have to get them early or they run out.

My first 2 years, I did get my seed from my FIL. I am not sure whether the seed i get now are any different. been a dew years. I have some left over though

Thanks for the link I'd like to try some of those...I might just buy me a pack or two. I have a little unused space in the garden. Do you prefer to snap and eat or wait and shell them for the beans and eat that way?
